Albino Olive Pythons for sale

Albino Olive Pythons (Liasis olivaceus) are a visually striking variant of the Olive Python, characterized by their lack of melanin pigmentation, resulting in a unique coloration. Here’s a detailed description of these fascinating reptiles:

Physical Description

  • Coloration: Albino Olive Pythons lack the dark pigmentation present in typical Olive Pythons, resulting in a lack of coloration in their scales. They typically have a creamy white or pale yellow body with pinkish or orange undertones. Their eyes are usually pink or reddish due to the absence of melanin.
  • Pattern: Like typical Olive Pythons, Albino variants may have faint patterns or markings on their bodies, although these may be less pronounced due to the lack of pigmentation.

Size

  • Adult Size: They are one of Australia’s largest snakes, with adults reaching lengths of 2.5 to 4 meters (8 to 13 feet) on average. Albino Olive Pythons exhibit similar size ranges.

Habitat and Distribution

  • Habitat: Olive Pythons are found in a variety of habitats, including woodlands, savannas, and rocky areas. They are semi-arboreal, often found near water sources where prey is abundant.
  • Geographic Range: Olive Pythons are native to northern and western Australia, including regions of the Northern Territory, Western Australia, and Queensland.

Behavior and Diet

  • Behavior: They are primarily nocturnal, hunting at night and spending their days resting in concealed locations such as hollow logs or rocky crevices. They are solitary snakes except during the breeding season.
  • Diet: In the wild, they prey on a variety of mammals, birds, and reptiles. In captivity, they are typically fed appropriately sized rodents, rabbits, or poultry.

Reproduction

  • Breeding:  like their non-albino counterparts, are oviparous, laying clutches of 20 to 50 eggs. The female incubates the eggs by coiling around them to maintain the optimal temperature until they hatch, which typically takes around 2 to 3 months.
  • Development: Hatchlings are independent from birth and must fend for themselves. They are capable of hunting small prey items once they have shed their first skin.

Captive Care

  • Enclosure: They require spacious enclosures with plenty of hiding spots and climbing opportunities. The enclosure should have a temperature gradient ranging from 28-32°C (82-90°F) on the warm end and 24-28°C (75-82°F) on the cool end.
  • Humidity: They require moderate to high humidity levels, ranging from 50% to 70%. Mist the enclosure regularly to maintain adequate humidity levels, especially during shedding.
  • Feeding: Feed captive Albino Olive Pythons appropriately sized prey items every 2 to 4 weeks, depending on their age and size. Provide access to fresh water at all times.

Conservation

  • Status: Olive Pythons, including Albino variants, are not currently listed as threatened or endangered. However, habitat loss and fragmentation pose significant threats to their populations in the wild.

Popularity in Captivity

  • They are popular among reptile enthusiasts due to their unique coloration and manageable size for a large python species. They require experienced care but can be rewarding pets for dedicated keepers.

They are prized for their striking appearance and are highly sought after by reptile breeders and enthusiasts. With proper care and attention to their specific needs, they can thrive in captivity and make fascinating additions to reptile collections.

Earlier in December I purchased a female Albino Olive Python from you and I have to say I’m completely happy. Not only is she healthy, but she’s also incredibly active, docile, and friendly. I have her feeding on frozen large mice already and after the first feeding session she knew the separate tank was meant for eating. Also, in July I purchased a Russian Tortoise from here and he’s doing wonderful. He’ll actually hang out on the bed and watch tv for a little with me before passing out for a bit. I can honestly say that I’ll recommend you to anyone looking for any type of pet you sell. I can’t be more happier than I am with your service and the care the animals have before I receive them. Any future purchase I make will be through here first and foremost.
